Wondering how to add any item, from any store, to your wedding registry on TheKnot.com? I wondered the same thing! So I did a little digging, and am sharing it with all of my bride friends!
After you follow the steps below, and get ready to start your wedding registry, be sure to check out my latest post on The Ultimate Wedding Registry Checklist. This post gives you a breakdown of items you’ll want to think about adding to your registry, based on each room!
Have you ever wondered if it were possible to add an item to your wedding registry that wasn’t from a store provided? Have you found an item from a store but don’t need/want to make a registry for that store just for said item? Example: Etsy! I’m here to help you make a ONE STOP SHOP for your guests! Why have them choose between 4+ stores looking at multiple registry lists, when they can land on one page?! Finding any gift you’ve added, from any store!
Easy for them, yes, but also… easy for you! You only have to keep track of ONE registry. Plus you now only have to put ONE link on your invites/website! N more, “we are registered at blank, and blank, and blank, and blank, and blank”, and so on HAHA!
Luckily, TheKnot.com made it extremely user friendly by allowing you to add ANY item you wish, to your list, no matter what the store may be! You want that personalized cutting board from Etsy that you obviously can’t get at Crate&Barrel or Target? … well here ya go!
HOW TO:
1.) log into your account on Theknot.com and click on “REGISTRY” found on the top bar
2.) Once you’ve made it to the Registry page, scroll to the bottom and you’ll see what’s in the picture below.
3.) Install the “ADD TO THE KNOT” button to your bookmarks bar by simply dragging it over
4.) Go to your store of choice, let’s just say Target for fun (HEHE). Once you click on the item you want – click the “Add to The Knot” button on your bookmark bar
5.) After you click the “Add to The Knot” button, the log in box above will pop up and you will need to log into your account. (I suggest saving it so it “remembers” you and you don’t have to do it every single time!)
6.) After logging into your account your screen should look like the picture below and there will be THREE things you’ll want to triple check before hitting the “Add To Registry” button!
7.) First, you will want to make sure the picture is the same picture of the item you want, since this is the picture that will display to your guests! If it’s not the first one that pops up (rare) just keep scrolling until you find it!
8.) Second, you will want to check the price of the item to make sure it is correct! Many times it shows a random price tag ~considering it can give you 70 images to choose from LOL! Not sure why it does that, but you can easily type in the actual price if it does happen to pop up differently!
9.) Third, you will want to adjust the quantity of the item! If you are wanting a lamp for each nightstand, change that to 2, and so on!
10.) ADD TO REGISTRY!
Once you’re finished, you’ll be able to see all of the items you chose, FROM DIFFERENT STORES – ON ONE PAGE! It’s genius! Now you have a ONE STOP SHOP for your guests to navigate and only ONE link you have to put on your invites/website! Really, It’s a win win for everyone!
FOR EXAMPLE!
If you read my previous blog post on The Ultimate Wedding Registry Checklist, and you found an item that would go great on your registry, you simply click on that item from the link provided and start from STEP 4! (after you’ve done 1-3!)
Or, if you happen to follow me on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app and come across anything that would go perfectly on your registry, again – click on the link provided and start at STEP 4! (after you’ve done 1-3!) It’s really THAT easy!
Thank you all SO much for reading. I always have so much fun creating these helpful posts for you all! I really do hope you’re able to take something from this and have a more smooth sailing planning process!
